Stefan Gehrig

Short Bio:
Stefan Gehrig studied Computer Science and Physics and received his PhD degree in Computational Physics from the University of Tuebingen in 2000. The PhD thesis focused on lateral control strategies for autonomous vehicle following using stereo vision. His main research interests continued to be intelligent vehicles, focusing on stereo vision, where his research was honored with several best paper awards. As a team member of the 6D-Vision team, he was nominated for Germany´s Future Prize in 2011 and was awarded the Beckurts Prize in 2012. The stereo system became available in Mercedes Models in early 2013 and was awarded the IEEE ITS Outstanding Application Award in October 2014.
